A Gnome Greeting

For some who may remember my Farewell to Gnomes posting I wanted to mention that I've demoted it from the frontpage.

The reason I've done this is because I've decided to see if i can re-invent and enhance gnome for my own uses. It has always been close to what I've wanted so my plan is to bring into gnome the features that I want.

I'll also leave out those mis-features that I don't.

This could get a bit adventurous so I got a HP Visualize C3600 to use as a web server. I just finished installing Gentoo on it and intend to move my web server there. [ It's Alive ]

My old web server I intend to make into a development box for my new desktop. I'll be installing gentoo there too and starting development there.
I hope something good can come out of it. I hope that if it runs well on a 1K Duron and a Radeon 8500, it should run well anywhere.

My intention is to steal all the gpl'ed code I can and gpl a new combination.
